SEN Coordinator
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in London to assist with the appointment of a SEN Coordinator, on a 6-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £240.00 - £303.84 per Day
Responsibilities:
- To undertake the statutory assessment process of an EHC needs assessment and the issuing of EHC Plans within twenty weeks as per the statutory deadlines, which is in accordance with The Children and Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice January 2015.
- To provide an EHC Assessment and Review function that enables effective and efficient support in order to build strong and resilient children, young people and families.
- To be a champion for the use of technology (such as the case management system) to record, track and monitor our ways of working to both manage performance and inform business intelligence.
- Ensure that systems are clearly and consistently updated with all relevant information in a timely manner.
- To coordinate a person centred, outcome focused multi agency approach to the assessment, planning and support, ensuring that children, young people and parents are treated as equal partners in the assessment and planning process.
Qualifications:
- Degree level qualification or equivalent
Experience:
- Demonstrable extensive experience of working in an SEN service;
- Demonstrable experience of writing high quality EHCPs;
- Demonstrable experience of excellent verbal and written skills;
- Demonstrable experience of meeting statutory deadlines and working in
- autonomy as well as within a team.
- High level of self-resilience
- Recent experience of working within an LA SEN service
- Must be able to write high quality EHCP
- Must be able to meet statutory timeframes
- Be able to attend meetings in borough/Town Hall on at least a weekly basis
- Excellent IT, verbal and written skils

Responsibilities:
- Deal with enquiries, providing advice and guidance to customers
- Check applications, consider evidence, make decisions and produce documents based on set criteria.

Qualifications:
- GCSEs A*- C (9-4) or equivalent in English and Maths

Experience:

Responsibilities:
- To maintain and review an up-to-date Register of Preferred Contractors
- To administer the Contracts for Works, instruct contractors and monitor the quality of workmanship.
- To assist & contribute towards the development of a Private Service
- To keep full and careful records, including inputting on IT systems, of all activity for the purpose of updating case files, colleagues and managers on progress of enquiries, applications, current cases and completions.

Qualifications & Experiences:
- Qualified to at least HND/HNC level Building Construction and / or Surveying or equivalent

- Experience of working with clients, internal departments and external agencies
- Experience of working in an office / team environment and of working effectively as part of a small team.

- Considerable experience in the application of housing renewal legislation relating to private sector housing, including the supervision of building works and contractors with the ability to maximise income and minimise costs

- Develop, implement and enforce environmental health policies, using specialist technical skills and knowledge to maintain and safeguard standards relating to people's health and well-being
- Carry out routine or unplanned visits and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and taking action to improve conditions, taking photos, producing drawings, removing samples and conducting interviews as part of the inspection process

Qualifications:

- Provide a high quality customer focussed service, with clients being treated with courtesy and respect and meet all council standards and targets relating to communication with residents.
- Assist and motivate residents to reach set goals and progress along an identified clear pathway for housing. Provide client centred support plans and intensive assertive key-working support using reflective practice techniques
- Coordinate any necessary support services to assess residents ability to live independently and identify which services could assist them to sustain their wellbeing and tenancy and provide a time limited floating support service to ensure residents are linked into appropriate services after moving out
- Encourage residents to engage and participate in activities which address issues of social isolation and confidence building and to accompany them where necessary and appropriate
- Advocate for residents where required, providing practical support if needed to ensure that their rooms are habitable and safe and where necessary to accompany residents to appointments. e.g. Health Services, DWP, viewings
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the impact of Adverse Child Experiences and the principles of Trauma Informed Care when dealing with homeless people who have complex needs
- Knowledge of the Care Act and Housing legislation and the available support in relation to single homeless adults
- Knowledge of welfare benefits and other support that is available to residents of supported accommodation
- Health and Safety issues in relation to a supported housing setting
Experience:
- Experience of working with homeless people with complex support needs
- Experience of recovery focused and harm minimisation service provision for clients with multiple and complex needs
- Experience of risk assessment, keyworking and support planning
- Experience of case coordination in a multi-agency setting
