Experienced Bricklayer - Thredbo
THE ROLE
Our Client is a highly reputable construction company who specialise in building luxury single-dwelling residences and they are seeking qualified brick layers to work on a prestigious project in the Snowy Mountains Region.
An immediate start is available and we have work available for one month commencing beginning of February. All accommodation will be provided.
In this role you will deliver the following tasks:
- Handle and prepare bricklaying/block laying/stone materials, mixing cement and carting of bricks.
- Analysing plans and specifications to ensure you have the right materials for the project.
- Measuring required dimensions & apply basic levelling procedures.
- Laying bricks, stone or similar materials to build residential walls.
- Cutting and trimming bricks using hand and power tools.
- Checking and measuring alignment of bricks.
- Restoring, cleaning existing brick structures.
- Designing shapes and spreading mortar between joints.
- Plan bricklaying daily activities on site in consultation with the foreman, completing work to the highest standard possible.
- Assist in setting up and packing up of projects / work sites.
- Assist the site manager with company WHS system implementation and compliance
Candidate attributes and experience

- Work well both in a team and independently, always seeing tasks through to completion
- Experience or understanding of construction detail resolution
- Experience in architect designed residential construction preferred

- Ability to communicate instructions to other team members or sub-trades
- Strong track record of similar project experience and delivery
Candidate requirements;
- Trade certification
- White Card
- Experience in luxury residential buildings highly regarded
- Own vehicle, and be willing to travel
- PPE highly regarded but can be provided
Carpenter
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Qualified Carpenter is a site-based role, working on luxury residential projects of $5M-$20M in value within Sydney, which may range from renovations of established residences to new residential builds, with a focus on quality above all else.
In this role you will assume carpentry responsibilities, under the supervision of a Foreman on one of our clients building sites. This is your opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge working in a detail-orientated, quality-driven building team with an excellent industry reputation, reporting directly to the site foreman.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Successfully deliver projects from pre-construction through to defect liability and handover
- Install structures and fixtures.
- Install and strip temporary formwork systems.
- Install reinforcement. Place and finish concrete.
- Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials as required.
- Install flashing and windows.
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes. Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes.
- In undertaking these tasks monitor other tradesman and contractors for quality and compliance
- Assist the site manager and foreman with set-out activities.

- This is a hands-on role where you will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality, custom finishes.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE:
- to have a minimum of 3 years experience in a carpenter position;
- Strong track record in architect designed residential construction is required;
- Experience or understanding of construction detail resolution;
QUALIFICATIONS
- Cert III Carpentry or equivalent and completion of a carpentry apprenticeship.
- Residential Carpentry experience preferable.
- White card required
SKILLS:
- Experience or understanding of construction detail resolution;
- Experience in doors, locks, windows, metalworks and finishing trades;
- Good knowledge of basic plumbing, mechanical and electrical services;
- Excellent attention to detail, quality and finish;
- Understanding of construction sequences;
- Ability to think through issues and resolve problems;
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment;
- to be well presented, with strong time management skills, excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn and teach;
- High degree of English proficiency;
- Works well both in a team and independently, always seeing tasks through to completion;
- to be available while site is open Monday to Saturday;
- Their own vehicle, active drivers licence and white card;
