Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist

As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will manage the payment responsibilities for our Boston and Cambridge operations. The role will be performed from our facility in Boston (Fenway). This is a part-time role, with a weekly expectation of 24 hours.
We are looking for a detail-oriented pragmatic accounts payable specialist who is self-motivated and self-directed to ensure we effectively manage our accounts payables, manage our cash flow, and treat our vendors and suppliers as critical partners. Someone who is team-oriented and obsessed with details done with excellence. You will possess a strong knowledge of developing, implementing, and leading the accounts payable function, emphasizing electronic payment management. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- The Accounts Payable Specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued supply chain partners;
- Review and approve electronic invoices submitted in Bill.com to ensure payments are made in a timely manner to our vendors and suppliers;
- Post business transactions (invoices) through the company Bill.com account for manual invoices and coordinate with vendors/suppliers to migrate invoicing processes from manual invoices to Bill.com submission;
- Review submissions in Ramp.com to ensure proper coding, classification, and submission requirements to facilitate credit card reimbursement approvals;
- Collaborate with Chew team members to address invoice concerns; clarify any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures;
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors;
- Collaborate with supply chain partners/vendors to establish payment/credit terms with suppliers;
- Provide other support necessary to facilitate the accounts payable functions
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO CHEW:
- Extreme organization and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on accounts payables systems and execution.
- Familiarity with online/electronic account payable tools, including the fundamentals of Bill.com, Ramp.com, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- GSD (Get Stuff Done) mindset; positive attitude with a generous, helping personality.
- Organizational and multi-tasking proficiency.
- Ability to absorb detailed information and effectively structure and communicate with the team.
- Exceptional ability to plan, prioritize, and execute with excellence and accuracy.
- Fluent in English.

As the Operations Manager, you will manage operations at our Cambridge production facility and collaborate with our internal R&D Team in Boston to establish safe, efficient, and scalable processes. Chew will deliver fantastic food products in a culture of Operational Excellence through your expertise, initiative, and passion for excellence.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Working under the mentorship and direction of the Vice President of Commercialization and in collaboration with the R&D Team, research and establish exceptional production processes that ensure food safety and product quality in a scalable pilot volume facility.
- Draft and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions, and related training aids to facilitate repeatable, reliable production operations.
- Oversee the execution of Chew's production process and commitment to Chew's partner deliverables and expectations; utilize the methods and techniques of Lean Manufacturing and food safety/GMP principles; provide leadership and technical direction to team members.
- Establishes and communicates production Key Performance Indicators (KPI), analyzes performance and trends with the team, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support transferring processes and technology to larger-scale production processes and contract manufacturing partners.
- Assist in identifying, installing, and qualifying new processing and testing equipment.
- Ensure that Chew production facilities meet exceptional food safety and housekeeping standards.
- Ensures the reliability and maintenance of production and facilities equipment, including corrective/preventive action and the equipment calibration program.
- Assist the Vice President of Commercialization with identifying and vetting co-manufacturing sources regionally and globally as part of Chew's production scalability and growth objectives.
- Support the Vice President of Commercialization and the Chew R&D Team during scheduled production downtime, as directed.

Other skills and attributes that will contribute to success in this role:
- 5-10 years of supervisory experience in the food manufacturing industry; able to assume accountability and responsibility in a small, lean, and fluid organization.
- HACCP/Food Safety experience.
- Strong computer literacy (including ERP systems).
- Fluent in English
