Assistant Controller
Our client is gladly relocating on the role below. This is a Cost Accountant Management role so it is a must in the requirements.
This position will provide financial accounting support to the Pensacola, FL Manufacturing organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage the centralized accounting for plants using the Oracle accounting system including leading the financial statement close.
- Manage the balance sheet for plants using the Oracle accounting system including monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of reconciliation issues.
- Lead the Oracle ERP monthly close including monitoring the opening and closing of modules.
- Support the Oracle costing functionality by participating in plant implementations and post go-live support.
- Manage the intercompany and intersystem balance sheet accounts to ensure they remain in balance.
- Assist in preparing quarterly review and yearly audit schedules.
- Respond to questions from internal departments and external auditors.
- Develop and maintain effective, professional and respectful working relationships.
- Participate in a wide variety of projects or tasks as assigned.
- Orient, train, coach and discipline employee(s). Communicate job expectations and appraise job performance.
- Supervises Accountants and Clerks as applicable.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years related experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledge of current Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), public accounting experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion Essbase a plus.
- Strong research and analytical skills in researching account reconciliation differences. Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to understand the impact of operations on our financial results.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and the ability to work comfortably with other programs in Microsoft Office.
- Solid organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines.
Education
- Bachelors degree in accounting and 5 years in financial/general ledger accounting or auditing
Financial Analyst
As a Financial Analyst - Americas reporting directly to the Finance department, you will play a key role in managing long-term agreements, optimizing inventory processes, and supporting financial planning. This position demands a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in financial analysis, contract management, and inventory control.
Responsibilities:
Administer and manage long-term agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual terms
Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate favorable LTAs, considering cost savings and strategic partnerships
Monitor LTA performance, addressing discrepancies and facilitating contract renewals or amendments as needed
Oversee the day-to-day inventory operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Implement and refine inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies and enhance accuracy
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand, ensuring optimal stock
levels and minimizing carrying costs
Work closely with the Finance team to generate accurate and timely financial reports related to LTAs and inventory
Support financial planning by providing insights into LTA and inventory-related expenses and trends
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for inventory and LTA expenses
Ensure adherence to financial and contractual obligations within LTAs
Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to address any compliance issues
Provide support during audits to demonstrate compliance with LTA terms
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the LTA and inventory management functions
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and streamline operations
Utilize data analysis tools to interpret complex data sets related to LTAs and inventory
Generate insights and actionable recommendations based on data-driven analysis
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Proven experience in financial analysis, contract management, and inventory control
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in data analysis tools and advanced MS Excel skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Experience with ERP systems
Knowledge of industry best practices in LTAs and inventory management
Relevant certifications such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CFA
(Chartered Financial Analyst) are advantageous
