About the role
You will be working closely with Project Managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
You would also be responsible for identifying and managing any potential financial risks associated with the project, and for ensuring that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
Duties will include the following.
- Cost management: Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans for projects. Monitor and control project costs, ensure projects are completed within budget, and report any variances.
- Contract administration: Administer construction contracts, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.
- Measurement and valuation: Measure and value work completed on projects, including preparation of interim valuations and final accounts.
- Risk management: Identify and assess potential risks on projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Scheduling and planning: Assist in the development of project schedules, including the preparation of critical path analysis and progress reports.
- Procurement: Assist in the procurement of goods and services required for projects, including the preparation of purchase orders and contracts.
- Quality control: Ensure that projects are constructed to the required standards, including compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Stakeholder management: Communicate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and consultants, to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess the following.
- A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field;
- Experience working in a similar role, preferably within civil infrastructure projects;
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction industry best practices, standards, and regulations;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and project management skills;
- Proficiency in relevant software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office;
- Ability and willingness to work away from home as required;
- Natural leadership and team management skills;
- Sound communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Senior Project Manager

Exceptional Senior Project Manager wanted for a $300k+ role leading multiple road, highway and bridge projects.
Our Client, a rapidly expanding Tier 2 contractor, is looking for an exceptional Senior Project Manager with a strong background in roads, highways and bridge projects.
The opportunity
The project scopes include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Road upgrades involving the widening of highways to multiple lanes;
- Construction of new overpasses and bridge reconstructions including associated road realignments and upgrades;
- Upgrading and improving intersections;
- Building new shared pedestrian and bike underpasses;
- Road reconstruction and flood repair works including drainage systems, sidewalks, and road markings.
We are looking for a capable pair of hands that can hit the ground running and, as such, they are offering a competitive salary, a strong pipeline of future projects, and excellent career advancement options.
About You
Our ideal candidate will possess the following.
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering;
- Minimum of 6 years experience as a Project Manager on road and bridge construction;
- Based in Queensland or NSW and both willing and able to work away on rosters as required;
- Sound technical and commercial expertise with a desire to mentor other engineers to be the best they can be;
- Proven delivery of infrastructure projects, with exposure to roadworks and structures to DTMR and/or TfNSW specifications;

Civil Supervisor

About the role
Due to new awards, they have several current and upcoming roles on earthworks/road/bridge projects in different locations across Queensland and NSW.
Reporting to the Superintendent, you will be providing hands on support in the field, assisting with the coordination of all resources to ensure the effective delivery safe Projects within budget and within time.
Your key duties will include:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, including site management and administration, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Mentor and guide your team to achieve their full potential and help them grow in their careers.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality controls.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop a weekly work program, monitor project costs, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and inspection and testing processes to ensure all work meets the required standards.
- Provide daily updates and records of project progress, including photo logs and cost reports, and notify the project management team of any potential variations.
- Ensure all training requirements are met to maintain a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
- Conduct regular inspections with clients to ensure work flow, quality control, and testing conform to project requirements.
About you
We are looking for seasoned Supervisors with significant on-site civil construction experience underpinned by solid technical expertise.
- Highly developed communication, negotiating and analytical skills with the ability to effectively communicate with officials from government, the community, customers and management groups;
- The ability to provide leadership in a construction site environment while building relationships with client and workforce;
- A sound knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety issues and responsibilities including ability to comply with the relevant Act and Regulations;
- Demonstrated ability to understand project drawings, standard drawings and work to the relevant standards and codes applicable to the works;
- Knowledgeable in the field of Human Resources and Industrial Relations.
- A Certificate III in Civil Construction and/or Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision or equivalent experience.

Civil Superintendent
Location: Rockhampton region

About the role
This is a permanent role with a highly respected Queensland-based civil contractor. With a strong focus on people, culture, and services, plus a great track record in delivering multi-million-dollar civil works across Queensland and NSW, they are rapidly growing - and they want you to come along for the ride.
This project runs from March through to January 2024 and can be FIFO or DIDO, after which you will be assigned to further projects in Queensland.
The scope includes road widening, 2 new overtaking lanes, pavement works, and roadside clearance.
About you
Ideally you will possess the following:
- Minimum of 5 years experience executing drainage, earthworks, pavement, road surfacing, and barrier installation works on TMR contracts;
- Highly developed communication, negotiating and analytical skills with the ability to effectively communicate with officials from government, the community, customers and management groups;
- The ability to establish cooperative working relationships with subcontractors, clients representatives and other members of the workforce (stakeholder relations/management);
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of scope of works and contractual obligations of projects;
- A comprehensive understanding of construction programmes with excellent time management skills to enable project completion within specified timeframes;
- Have a thorough understanding of Occupational Health and Safety issues and responsibilities including ability to comply with the relevant Act and Regulations;
- Be knowledgeable in the field of Human Resources and Industrial Relations;
- Possess a Certificate III in Civil Construction and/or Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision or equivalent experience.

You will play a vital role in developing and implementing effective environmental strategies that promote safe and efficient project construction. You will engage with the construction team and its partners while building assets that support the community.
Key responsibilities:
- Advising on environmental matters;
- Liaison with the Project Manager and relevant authorities on environmental matters, including inspection requirements;
- Maintaining a register of environmental management documents;
- Overseeing erosion and sediment control on site;
- Conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure environmental safeguards;
- Identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary;
- Preparing monthly reports on works and achievements;
- Developing environmental induction and toolbox talks for all site personnel;
- Authority to stop work to prevent environmental nonconformities;
- Notification of environmental incidents to relevant parties.
About you:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental management on road construction or similar projects;
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent;
- Availability to manage environmental issues and attend project audits as required;
- Willing and able to work away from home and flexible regarding rosters.

Multi Skilled Operators - Moranbah
We are looking for experienced multi-skilled plant operators with a great attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety to join our Client's business during a solid period of growth.
Based in Moranbah, you can either DIDO or FIFO via attractive salary-sacrificing options that may be available to you following a qualifying period.
You will be working a 7/7 roster with camp accommodation and meals included.
To be successful you will need the following:
- A current QLD Coal Board Medical & Standard 11 Statement of Attainment
- Multiple RII Certificates with current/recent experience across a range of plant ie Grader, Excavator, Water Cart, Loader, Dozer, Scraper
- Proven experience in operating these machines on Civil / Mining Projects
- The ability to work cohesively in a team environment and work unsupervised
- Strong track record of working to a high standard of safety
- A current drivers' licence
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical including Drug and Alcohol screen.
- Excellent references.
You will be employed on a fixed-term basis. However, they have a strong pipeline of work so if you have the desire to work with them long term and are willing to travel to various project locations living away from home as required, there is the potential to move to other projects throughout Qld or NSW.
