Cook assistant in Panningen - Peel en Maas, Limburg (The Netherlands)
Introduction & details about the job:
A hotspot establishment in Peel en Mass is looking for professionals who independently cook both hot and cold dishes. The restaurant has an ultra-modern and fully equipped canteen kitchen.
There is also a separate preparation kitchen so that there is enough workspace to work well.
It has 250 seats inside and 150 outside, as well as a separate room where (company)
events can be organized. In this separate room where (company) parties for 300 guests can be held. It serves everything from finger food to small dishes, whereby they work based on sharing dining.

Who are we looking for?
Hard-working, enthusiastic, and adventurous cook assistant who is passionate about what he does and has the needed cooking skills. Proactive, and able to deal with unforeseen situations in the kitchen. Men or women who are responsible, but above all, friendly and open.

Your responsibilities:
- Mise en place both cold and hot
- Running lunch both cold and hot
- Preparing starters and desserts independently
- Assisting on the hot side and deep-frying.

What do we offer?

- 8% of saves and reservations are paid in May.
- You can use lunch if you start work at or before 12.00 and dinner if you start work at or before 17.00.
- Help in contracting health insurance. Cost for the candidate: 125 per month, but that depends entirely on personal details.
- Management of your BSN number once in the Netherlands.
Accommodation:
House in Pannigen which can be shared by 3 people. Everyone has their own bedroom, and the rest must be shared. With a small garden. 15 min walk distance to the restaurant.
Costs are around 600 euros per person per month. For rent, gas water and light and internet.
Minimum requirements:
Proven work experience as cook assistant minimum 3 years of experience.
- Studies in Gastronomy, medium degree in Gastronomy.
- Excellent time management abilities.
- Good level of English.

For an upper-class Hotel of the 4* category, we are looking for a Sous Chef m/f with experience in the hotel industry or fine dining.

- You support the Head Chef of this small Team in all duties.
- Menu planning, purchasing, stock keeping, scheduling.
- Supervising the Team.
- As well as preparation of all dishes, presentation, and finalization.

The ideal person should have solid experience and know what is required of a chef de partie within a kitchen. As an independently working cook, you work daily in the kitchen, and you perform all common activities in collaboration with the chef and/or sous chef. We expect you have an excellent knowledge of cooking techniques and products, you used to work with only artisanal and fresh products, and you are stress-resistant, professional, and service-oriented attitude with an eye for quality, and an intermediate (B2) or above the level of English.
Minimum requirements:
- Good background, experienced in all stations in 4* and 5* hotels and renowned restaurants.
- Experience with Michelin restaurants is a great advantage.

We collaborate with a large network of hotels, restaurants and establishments in The Netherlands that are looking for experienced people to work in the kitchen.
Location of the vacancy: Frisian Islands (Schiermonnikoog, Ameland, Terschelling, Vlieland, and Texel).
You will develop your cooking skills working in one of the five world heritage islands in the Netherlands.
You are the ideal candidate if you :
- Have experience in cooking and are willing to support the Chef to other colleagues in the kitchen.
- Flexibility and knows how to work under pressure at certain times.
- Priority over quality in preparations and hygiene.
- Can be in charge of washing, cutting vegetables, cleaning, preparing some snacks, or preparing dishes, mice, and places.
- Can assist the first chef or be responsible for their own section in the kitchen.
What do we offer?
- Contract through Dutch collective agreement.
- Salary from 14- 15 euros gross per hour. 2.140- 2.300 euros gross per month and TIPS 300 euros net per month!
- Weekly salary payments.
- Accommodation in a sharing housing is organized by the hotel, restaurant, or establishment at a low cost, around 55 - 65 per week. Always close to the workplace.
- Minimum 2 meals are included in your work hours.
- Workweeks are an average of min. 35 and max. 60 hours (high season is always more than 40 hours per week).
- The working schedule will be provided by the restaurant/hotel.
- Subsidized Health Insurance: this legal requirement will be organized for you by our partners at the reduced rate of 33,50 per week.
- On the island you can rent a bicycle relatively cheaply or the establishment can provide you with one.
- Boat ticket: Paid by Job Adventures partners in the Netherlands.
- 8 % holiday allowance.
- A hostel´s night paid for us in Groningen. The following day our colleagues will stay with you to manage your BSN number at the city hall.
