Senior Financial Analyst (Contract)
Senior Financial Analyst role (3 month contract) is offered for a well establish NPO based out of Toronto, ON.
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Financial Analyst to join on a 3-month contract basis, with the potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting and analytics, 5+ years of relevant experience, and pursuing a CPA designation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in financial analysis, contribute to critical business decisions, and work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with year end audit procedures and creation of schedules
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure compliance with internal and external accounting standards and financial policies
- Help with continuously improving financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Provide financial guidance and support to senior management and stakeholders
- Make recommendations for enhancing divisional efficiency and quality of service by identifying client needs, emerging trends, and opportunities
- Identifying service gaps and help bridge delivery gaps and recommend new services
- Ensure effective teamwork and timely communication of all issues noted.
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
- Professional degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Global Certification works too)
- 5+ years of experience in core accounting / financial analysis and reporting
- Pursuing a CPA designation
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred:
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills, including using complex formulas in excel
- Familiarity preferred with ASNPO / ASPE and regulations
